Join our team of keepers and help care for the animals at Wild Discovery!

Starting early before the visitors arrive, you will be cleaning out some animals down on the farmyard and out in the paddocks.  You’ll be preparing meals and creating some exciting enrichment for a selection of animals at the zoo before heading off to meet some animals up close.

Animals you could be working with include our fallow deer, sheep, guinea pigs, wallabies, capybara, tortoise, fruit bats. You may also meet some of our flying display birds. The experience does not include the sloth, crocodile, otters, reindeers and Scottish wildcats for safety reasons.

Duration: 9am – 1pm
Minimum age: 8 years +
Cost: £100 per person (max of 2 persons), includes a Wild Discovery Goody Bag.

What you need to know before you book

The experience is only for people of the minimum age or above. If a person is booked for the experience that is not above the minimum age they will not be allowed to complete the experience, and no refund will be given.

You need to wear sturdy footwear, ideally walking boots or wellies, no opened toed shoes/sandals are allowed. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Make sure you dress for the British weather as there are elements of the experience that will take place outside.

If you have any allergies, visual/hearing/mobility impairments, and/or any medical conditions you must contact us before booking to make sure that we can provide you with a safe and enjoyable experience. If you arrive for an encounter without declaring any of the above and we can not provide you with a safe and enjoyable encounter no refund will be issued. Upon arrival you will be asked to complete a Health & Safety Declaration form before your encounter.

Long hair must be tied back for safety reasons. The experience is not suitable for pregnant persons or anyone needing the use of a wheelchair.

An responsible adult is not required to be in attendance for duration of this experience, they just need to be in attendance when completing the health and safety form upon arrival. However if anyone would like to spectate from the visitor areas this is possible with the purchase of a zoo admission ticket. Entry for spectators is from 10.30am when the zoo opens.

Once a booking has been made, online or with a gift voucher no refunds are given. A booking can be transferred when a minimum of 72 hours notices is provided, subject to availability by emailing info@wilddiscovery.co.uk with your booking reference number and preferred new date.
