Overview

Also known as Hawaiian Goose, it is endemic to Hawaiian islands. This means that is not found anywhere else in the world. They get the name "nene" from the soft gentle sound that they make. They prefer to live and graze scrublands, pastures and coastal dunes. Nene will flock together in small groups, mainly for safety from predators. Although they are capable of flight they tend to spend much of their time on the ground.
